Alongside my psychotherapy practice, I facilitate professional peer support groups for Third Sector Chief Executive Officers.
Support for CEOs is minimal and does not reflect the rest of the sector where professional support is considered paramount. Some CEOs organise one to one supervision but this is by no means universal. ACEVO offer support at their meetings but if you are not able to attend those meetings, what other support structure do you have in place?
The very nature of your position may render you isolated, having no peers within the workplace. How appropriate is it to discuss work, personal or inter-personal issues with colleagues or members of your board?
