Counselling for anxiety and work stresses in the City Of London

Many people find the weeks leading up to thr Christmas break to be demanding. Coupled with a stressful workplace and deadlines fast approaching it’s common to encounter increased feelings of Anxiety, being Overwhelmed and a general feeling of Burnout.

Workplace stresses at Christmas and learning how to manage anxiety

In a high-pressure work environment such as The City of London, the day to day stress can feel relentless and punishing – coupled with long hours and possibly a demanding commute, it’s easy to see how problems can arise. Holidays can be even more stressful.

There are many online resources to practice self care, indeed I’ve written about some lovely Mindful Walks in London to let go of your thoughts whilst strolling, taking in some lesser-known scenic areas of London.

I have a variety of approaches to counsel you through times when you feel you have exceeded your ability to  as you usually do, both in your personal life and your professional capacity. You may be experiencing different emotional and psychological symptoms and physical illnesses.

Therapy and counselling thoughts – 10 commandments to consider

When you first read through these 10 Christmas Counselling Thoughts, you might wonder whether mindfulness is really going to help you. But it really can. It’s simply a question of creating a new routine.

Sometimes it’s difficult to try a new routine, whether learning something new on the job, or buying a new vacuum cleaner and  figuring out how to empty the dust – but stick with it and take each success as a mini-win.

I have heard of someone sticking it the ‘commandments’ on the bathroom mirror, so they couldn’t avoid reading it first thing in the morning whilst getting ready for work. Or you might simply note it on your phone as a handy go-to list.

Ten ways to be mindful of Christmas stress

Print out this list from Medical Masterclass and carry it with you .. which number will you need to focus on the most?

Take time to make time in the City of London

When spare time in your London City job is almost non-existent, try to be realistic with your own expectations of yourself and boundaried when managing other people’s expectations of you. If you possibly can, try to take even an hour or two breathing space for yourself in amongst the craziness that is December!
